CHARLIE

Charlie, a five-year-old female, has always loved bottles... chewing on them, that is. She always liked to chew on 20-ounce plastic soda bottles and Frisbees.

SHAMUS

It was discovered that one of Shamus's favored pastimes was playing with elastic hair bands. He'd bat them around, chase them, and chew on them.

GOLDIE

Goldie had a serious problem. Due to an earlier infection, one of his eyes had been removed. Although the eye socket had been sewn closed, the procedure hadn't been done correctly and the edges had separated.

DANTE

Despite mom's reservations, six-month-old Dante joined the family's Harwich home in April 2009. At Christmas they realized something was wrong with Dante. He wouldn't eat and was getting thin; he had lost his joy of life.

It would make sense that a dog who had been abandoned twice would turn against humans.

MARLEIGH

Marleigh, a one-and-a-half-year-old black cat, was in trouble. He had been vomiting a thin brown liquid for several days. Emily Renaud, Marleigh's owner, had been employed by Pleasant Bay Animal Hospital in Harwich for three years. From her work as a veterinary technician, she knew from the color and consistency of what she saw that something was very wrong.

OZZY

Ozzy's story starts where many an outdoor cat's story ends - on a street struck by a car. Fortunately, he was picked up and brought to the Brewster Veterinary Hospital where he was examined by Dr. Louise Morgan. His leg was broken but could be saved with surgery. Dr. Morgan was able to patch him up just fine. Except for a limp, he was like any other two-year old - ready to run and play and be loved in a real home.

WINSTON

The stress of moving can be hard enough on us humans, but for a six-year old cat, it can be a time filled with anxiety. Especially when a handsome, burly kitty is replaced by a child who treats him with less respect than a loyal feline deserves. Winston, a bright orange cat with a lot to say, thought he was settled in with his forever family.

A BOXER WINS HIS TOUGHEST FIGHT

Shannon was reluctant to acquire a dog despite the repeated urgings of her children. A single mother, she was understandably concerned about the added cost and responsibility the addition of a companion animal would mean to her family. However, her fifteen-year old son Keegan persisted and Shannon, being a good mom, relented.
